About the apprenticeship
Adhering to the Policies and Procedures of Gallivan Childcare Solutions Limited (t/a Blue Door Out of School Care) and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of CIW and the National Standards, ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the setting
Working as part of a team
The care & supervision of the children, with regards to their physical, emotional, & intellectual needs
Working with the Childcare Practitioners on planning & preparation of activities, to meet the children’s individual needs. Liaising with parents & negotiating working targets, ensuring effective communication within the setting
Offering all children, staff, & volunteers, equal opportunities with regards to their religious needs, ethnic origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background. If necessary, managing challenging situations where discrimination is displayed
Keeping of development records & observations
Positive management of children’s behaviour
Preparation, care, cleanliness & maintenance of the playrooms & equipment & any other areas in the interests of health & safety
Providing a good role model for students & help new staff to fit into the setting
Keeping accident, incident & risk assessment records.
Supervision of mealtimes
Attendance of staff meetings as arranged by the Nursery Manager
Participating in regular parents’ evenings, publicity, open weekends & children's outings
Any other duties
Excellent communication skills
