If you wish to pursue a career within the social media and digital marketing industry then this apprenticeship will put you on the right path.
During the apprenticeship you will be provided with the knowledge and skills required for working in social media and digital marketing within a business setting.
You will also learn valuable transferable skills such as communication, team working, interpersonal skills and the ability to reflect on personal learning.
Tasks may involve creating and optimising content for the web, using digital and social media for marketing campaigns, key word optimisation, content management and website creation.
Employers are looking to attract applicants who have a keen interest in social media and digital marketing and expect applicants to demonstrate a "can do" attitude and have basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills.

Pathway 1: Supports the job role of Social Media Assistant, Social Media Consultant, Social Media Analyst, Digital Account Assistant, Digital Marketing Assistant, Digital Communications Officer and Community Engagement Officer.
Pathway 2: Supports the job role of Search engine optimisation assistant, Acquisition assistant, Email campaign assistant, Online marketing coordinator, Search marketing assistant, Content marketing assistant, Web design assistant, Video marketing production assistant, Web site content manager, eCommerce assistant, Display marketing assistant and Mobile marketing assistant.
Social Media and Digital Marketing – Level 4
Pathway 1: Support the job role of Digital marketing (ad/campaign) manager, Digital marketing analyst, Ecommerce marketing manager, Search marketing manager/executive, Social media marketing manager, Acquisition manager, CRM manager, Email campaign manager, Digital fundraising campaign manager, Mobile marketing manager, Web designer, Video marketing online channel manager, Video marketing director, and Digital marketing manager/director (360 degree role).

Level 3
Level 3: No specific entry requirements. There are qualifications and experience that will help learners understand the sector prior to starting:
- achieved a Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship in IT application specialist
- IT software, web and telecoms professional
- Marketing
- Business and Administration
- QCF Awards, Certificates or Diplomas
- GCSEs or A levels.
Level 4
Level 4: There are no entry requirements although it would be an advantage for candidates to have experience of the industry or have successfully completed the Apprenticeship in Social Media and Digital Marketing (Wales).
