The purpose of this framework is to train accountants to technician level (QCF Level 4) who work for accountancy firms or in finance divisions within other organisations.
It provides a structured approach to training and developing prospective accountants who understand the needs of the organisation, its customers and the sector within which they operate.
You will be asked to declare any criminal convictions, bankruptcy or CJJs at the time of registration onto the accounting qualification.
Pathway options and levels
Accounting - Level 2
Supports the job roles of Accounts Assistant/Clerk, Cashier, Credit Control Clerk, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk, Sales Ledger Clerk.
Accounting - Level 3
Supports the job roles of Trainee Accounting Technician and Assistant Accountant.
Accounting - Level 4
Supports the job role of Accounting Technician and Accounts Manager.

All apprenticeship pathways in Wales have entry requirements.
If you are interested in undertaking this pathway – you need to have the following entry level qualification(s);
Level 2
No formal entry requirements. But must like working with numbers and be able to demonstrate the potential for developing good communication skills.
Level 3
No formal entry requirements. If you have not achieved a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Accounting you will require GCSE Maths grades A*- C or Key Skill Application of Number at Level 1, or equivalent, good communication skills and vocational experience.
Level 4
No formal entry requirements. If you have not achieved a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Accounting you will require GCSE Maths grades A*- C or Key Skill Application of Number at Level 1, or equivalent, good communication skills and vocational experience.
