About the apprenticeship

Duties

The successful candidates will report to the Electrical/Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor and will undertake a 4-year modern engineering apprenticeship specialising in the electrical and instrumentation disciplines. The role will involve working on chemical process instrumentation measuring flow, level, pressure and temperature, often with the latest digital technologies. As well as safety systems, control devices and electrical equipment. Training will take place at the Solutia UK Ltd site in Newport and at the Newport & District Group Training Association facility located in Llantarnam, Cwmbran.

* Possess, or expect to achieve, 5 GCSE results (or equivalent) at grade C (Higher Level) or above.
* Be willing to work and learn.
* Show good written and verbal communication skills.
* Be able to work effectively in a team situation.
* Be a dependable person with self-discipline.

Qualifications

The GCSE results must include Mathematics, English and a suitable Science subject.
