About the apprenticeship
Duties
Kickstart your career in sport and education with the Wrexham AFC PE and School Sport Apprenticeship Scheme. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience delivering PE and sport development across a variety of programmes, while earning and working towards recognised qualifications. Opportunities include the chance to contribute to a variety of impactful programmes delivered by the Wrexham AFC Foundation, including Street Dragons, Ability Dragons, women and girls’ participation initiatives, and school-based roles in partnership schools, giving you a broad, real-world foundation to build your future in the industry.

Apprentices will plan, deliver and review sessions, whilst also contributing to planning, delivering and reviewing whole programmes too:
Will be a great sporting role-model for our children.
Can organise and run safe and enjoyable sessions
Will be able to support Coaches/Teachers while they deliver PE lessons or Community acivities.
Can organise and run sport and fitness sessions for target groups.
You will be expected to organise and lead activities, making sure that participants are safe, happy and enjoying developing new skill

As part of this apprenticeship, the successful candidate will undertake a structured training programme that includes:
On-the-job training – gaining practical experience within a school setting.
Off-the-job training – attending sessions covering safeguarding, behaviour management, child development, and learning strategies.
Regular assessments and feedback to track progress and improve skills.
Additional learning support, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and communication.
