About the apprenticeship
Duties
The apprentice will be based within the Placement Team, providing a consistent placement within Children and Family Services. The role will not be rotational; however, the apprentice will gain a breadth of experience through supporting different elements of the Placement Team functions.
The primary focus of the role will be to support the Placement Officer and the duty team in their responsibilities, specifically in identifying and securing appropriate foster and residential placements for children and young people.
The apprentice will gain experience in all aspects of Placement Team duty, including supporting placement searches, utilising the Children’s Commissioning Support Resource (CCSR) database, managing the duty dashboard on WCCIS, processing finances and will have regular telephone contact with in-house foster carers and external agencies.
A structured programme of support will be provided, including induction, supervision, training, shadowing opportunities and a personalised development plan, alongside completion of a relevant Level 3 qualification.
