About the apprenticeship
Duties
As an Early Years Apprentice, you will play a key supporting role within the service, helping to ensure effective administration and meaningful engagement with families and stakeholders. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining insight into early years and childcare provision across Torfaen.
You will have the opportunity to work in Early Years centres and with multi-agency teams, providing support to families and children. The post will also support teams with planning and attending events to promote Early Years services and community engagement.
The apprentice will gain a broad and valuable range of experience by supporting different aspects of the Early Years Service. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop administrative and customer care skills within a busy and varied environment that supports early years provision and childcare.
This apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation for a career in Early Years, Childcare, Administration, or Community Engagement, while making a real difference to children and families.

Requirements
Skills
GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
Basic knowledge of IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, email)
Experience of working as part of a team in a work, voluntary or personal setting
Experience of organising tasks or managing time effectively
Experience of using IT systems or digital tools
Experience of completing tasks within agreed timeframes or deadlines
Experience of following processes or instructions accurately
Qualifications
• Anyone aged 16 or over can complete an apprenticeship qualification (no upper age limit).
• 16-year-olds will need to have completed their final GCSE year at school before starting an apprenticeship.
• You must be willing to undertake and complete a relevant apprenticeship qualification
• You must be prepared to spend a minimum of 20% of your time in off-the-job learning
