About the apprenticeship
Duties
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification. This Apprenticeship with the Council’s Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) is a great way to earn a wage, gain real work experience, and build qualifications at the same time. As an Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, learning job-specific skills while working towards a nationally recognised qualification in Digital Skills for Business.
As a Communications and Administration Apprentice, we want you to bring your energy, enthusiasm and a proactive approach to a dynamic and supportive team. You will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of interesting work, including supporting communications, engagement activity, and the coordination of research projects across the Council and with external partners.
The role will involve working across different locations, including time spent at the Civic Centre (approximately one day per week), where you will be supported to work independently and manage your own tasks. You will also support engagement activity within local communities, working alongside colleagues and partners to help deliver programmes and events.
Requirements
Skills
The experience gained will be invaluable for anyone looking to develop a career in communications, public health or local government. In addition to working directly with the HDRC team, you will be supported to undertake a nationally recognised qualification, alongside gaining practical, real-world experience.
We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude, good attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Whether you are starting your career or looking to retrain, you’ll be supported to build your skills, gain experience and complete a recognised Apprenticeship qualification.
Qualifications
• Anyone aged 16 or over can complete an Apprenticeship qualification (no upper age limit).
• 16-year-olds will need to have completed their final GCSE year at school before starting an Apprenticeship.
• You must be willing to undertake and complete a relevant Apprenticeship qualification
• You must be prepared to spend a minimum of 20% of your time in off-the-job learning
