About the apprenticeship
Duties
Assist engineers and technicians with mechanical planning, fault finding, repairs and routine maintenance of power station machinery and equipment.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and technical manuals to support maintenance tasks.
Follow health and safety procedures, including risk assessments, PPE requirements and safe working practices.
Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance tasks, parts used, inspection results using computerised maintenance management system.
Understand how engineering systems operate in real working environments.
Plan maintenance tasks by helping to define technical work scopes and obtain quotations for servicing and or parts.

Margam Green Energy is a 45 MW power station that produces clean and sustainable power where, under BWSC we are responsible for the operation and maintenance ensuring it runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. BWSC is a Danish company that specialises in the designing, maintaining, and servicing of power plants worldwide.

You will gain hands-on experience on a wide variety of machinery and equipment, learning alongside experienced engineers and technicians, with opportunities to develop both practical and theoretical skills aligned to industry. Requirements
Skills

Qualifications
Minimum entry requirements: 5 GCSE grades C or above including Maths, English and a science subject.
