About the apprenticeship
Duties
Work under the guidance of the Room Leader and Management team in the planning and implementation of the Foundation Phase to promote effective care and education.
The Nursery Nurse may be required to supervise the whole playroom and deliver pre prepared activities.
Provide general support to the Room Leader.
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all babies and children, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop.
Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children.
Assist the nursery team in providing a friendly, caring and relaxing environment.
Ensure all daily routines are adhered to.
Adopt a creative and innovative approach towards practice.
Plan and provide safe, appropriate, child-led and adult initiated experiences.
Select, prepare and use a range of resources suitable for children.
Maintain children’s records and carry out assessments.
Settle in new children and provide on-going support.
Undertake laundry and kitchen cleaning duties daily.
Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and tidy Nursery.
Lock up and unlock Nursery premises if required.
Keep abreast of current issues & attend training programs outside of working hours if necessary.
Contribute to and participate in team meetings/team activities, outside of working hours if
necessary.
Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
Communicate with parents and other visitors in a calm, friendly and efficient manner.
Carry out any ad hoc projects or duties as requested.
