About the apprenticeship
Duties
• Safeguard and promote the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all children and young people.
• Ensure practice reflects Quality Standards and RISCA 2017.
• Provide responsive, high-quality support based on assessed need.
• Build positive relationships with children, young people and families.
• Maintain consistent boundaries and promote safety.
• Escalate concerns requiring management input.
• Maintain accurate documentation on ClearCare (online paperwork system).
• Complete administrative tasks supporting effective home operations.

As part of Progressus Care, you will contribute to a nurturing, relationship-based environment that supports children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. Working collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, social care professionals and families, you will deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care aligned with each young person’s personal plan, statutory requirements and organisational values.
WORK CIRCUMSTANCES
• Evenings, weekends, bank holidays as per rota.
• Sleep-ins required.
• Flexible to cover shifts at short notice.
• Enhanced DBS check will be required.
Requirements
Skills
• Compassionate, punctual and positivity to care for children, young people and families.
• Ability to engage children with emotional, behavioural or learning needs.
• Understanding of RISCA Regulations (Wales) 2017.
• Ability to apply childcare theory into practice.
• Strong report-writing skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Calm, consistent response to challenging behaviour.
• Ability to motivate children and use community resources effectively.
Qualifications
No minimum GCSE entry requirements, but willing to do ESW (GCSE equivalent)
Must be 21 or over
Must hold a Full UK Manual Driver’s License
