About the apprenticeship

Duties

The Technical Apprentice will support the Technical department while undertaking a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme. This role provides the opportunity to gain practical experience within the construction and building envelope industry, developing technical knowledge and professional skills through a structured programme of work-based learning and college study.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced members of the Technical team and gain exposure to a range of business functions, helping to build a solid foundation for a future career within the construction sector

Additional information

• Respond to customer technical queries via phone, email and live chat.
• Provide product information and guidance to customers and industry professionals.
• Carry out basic design calculations (e.g., gutters, fasteners) under supervision.
• Attend Design Team Meetings (DTMs) with members of the technical team.
• Use Salesforce to track projects, update cases, and maintain accurate records.
• Support general technical department activities and contribute to team projects.
• Attend college on day release as part of your Apprenticeship programme.

Skills

• A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Good communication skills - both verbal and written.
• A genuine interest in construction and building envelopes.
• IT competence, particularly with Microsoft Office.
• Ambitious, self-motivated and eager to progress within the company.
• Must live within a commutable distance, travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent), particularly in Maths, English and Science.
• Desirable, previous work experience, work placement or project work in a technical, engineering or construction-related environment.
• Awareness of construction products or building systems.
