About the apprenticeship

Duties

As an Apprentice, you will learn how to safely carry out maintenance and repair work on light vehicles. This includes working with components such as tyres, brakes, clutches, gearboxes and more. As you gain experience, your responsibilities will grow and develop.

You will also be expected to take on other appropriate duties as assigned. At all times, you must follow health and safety guidelines while working in an active garage environment.

While working full-time, you will complete the following qualifications:

* VCQ Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence
* VRQ Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles

* Application of Number
* Communication
* Digital Literacy

Additional information

Before applying for this position please ensure you are able to travel to and from the place of employment in Pontyclun and to the XR Training Centre in Pyle once a week. You will be employed full-time as an Apprentice by this company based in Pontyclun. You will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance. Please do not apply if you are enrolled onto or have already completed a Level 3 qualification for this trade as you will not be eligible.

Skills

* You should be keen and enthusiastic about starting a career in the motor vehicle industry.
* Previous experience (such as working on cars as a hobby or through school/college courses) is helpful, but not essential – we’re more interested in your willingness to learn.
* You must be reliable, flexible and able to work well with others as part of a team.
* You will need to travel to Pyle, Bridgend once a month to attend your required training sessions.
