About the apprenticeship

Duties

• Provide first‑line technical support to all staff across the business, responding to incoming tickets, calls, emails, ensuring issues are logged, prioritised and resolved promptly to maintain smooth operational continuity.

• Troubleshoot and resolve common IT faults including user account issues, device connectivity, software errors and basic network or hardware incidents, escalating to 2nd Line teams when required.

• Perform routine system checks and maintenance tasks such as monitoring dashboards, updating security tools, and ensuring devices remain secure, functional and aligned with IT policies.

• Support onboarding and offboarding processes by preparing user accounts, configuring laptops and mobile devices, deploying applications, and ensuring staff have the correct access and equipment.

• Maintain accurate documentation and asset records, updating ticket notes, device inventories, knowledge articles, and procedural guides to support consistent service delivery and continuous improvement.

• Deliver excellent customer service by communicating clearly with users, providing guidance on best practices, and ensuring all interactions reflect the professionalism and reliability of the IT department.

Qualifications

GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English, Science and IT.

Candidate must possess a Full UK Driving Licence.
