About the apprenticeship

Duties

Join an established company with an enviable reputation for supplying a market leading business systems solution into builders/timbers/plumbing merchants. Your role will be to assist on a variety of projects including development of new functionality as well as maintain existing systems. You will be exposed to a broad range of technologies and the full product development lifecycle.

This a very exciting time to join us as we move from a traditional server application to a cloud-based solution. You will report to a senior developer who will provide the mentoring and support to help develop your career in software development. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business that believes in working hard and having fun at the same time.

Responsibilities include (with training and full support): Developing applications, managing support requests, bug tracing and fixing, managing personal tasks unaided when required, monitoring scheduled processes, and maintaining a relaxed but professional relationship with colleagues.

Requirements

Skills

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work flexibly in a changing work environment,
- Accuracy
- Previous development experience in any language an advantage
- Logical mind and good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on several complex tasks at one time.
- A real enthusiasm for software development (you do it in your spare time!) and good interpersonal skills
- Display a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Sensible, works well as a team, but equally well on own
- Working to changing deadlines and requirements
- Ability to treat colleagues and visitors with respect
- The commitment to complete the Apprenticeship programme

• GCSE (or equivalent) English – Grade A*–C / Level 2 (required)
• GCSE IT or related subject (desirable)
