IS Group is a sign manufacturing Company. We operate nationwide
and manufacture at our factory in Flint customised signs, built up
letters, totems, monolith signs for the entrance to retail, industrial
parks, and shopping centres

welding and fabrication. A person would learn all of the basic aspects

of sign manufacture which would involve, applying vinyl to substrates,

fabrication use of CNC router, press brake, assembling components,

spray painting and installation.

What type of jobs can apprentices expect to be doing

preparation of materials for spraying, moving materials and stock,

assisting others, applying vinyl to substrates, assisting on an

installation minor groundworks. Learning the use of the press brake

to fold items of material such as aluminium and use of CNC router for

cutting shapes. Cleaning workshop area end of day.

Benefits available

The main benefits are that we work in a visual industry and therefore

many of our manufactured items are seen around the country. The

work is very varied as all items are individually designed and

manufactured, variety of skills learnt.

What do we look for in an applicant

Good hand skills interested in making items. A willingness to learn

from others but also taking own initiative and self learning. Ambitious,

a willingness to help out where needed to keep busy.

How much are apprentices paid

Just above minimum wage advised for age and experience
