What apprenticeships do they offer? 
The Apprenticeship Programme offers year-long Creative Digital Apprenticeships working towards a Level 4 NVQ in Creative Digital Media. Approximately 95% of apprentices go on to work for the company on a full-time or freelance basis.

When does Real SFX usually recruit for apprentices?
Real SFX recruits in the summer, with successful apprentices starting in September. Candidates can apply for positions through Sgil Cymru on the Apprenticeship Vacancy Service. 

What is Real SFX looking for in an applicant?
There is no specific skillset required to be an apprentice at Real SFX, as in-house training means that practical skills and knowledge are gained on the job. Instead, the company looks for those with a passion for the industry and the ability and drive to learn. 

What types of jobs can apprentices expect to be doing? 
Every day at Real SFX is different. Jobs vary depending on the production the company is working on at the time, so apprentices must adapt to suit the job at hand. Apprentices are usually workshop-based for the first few months, learning practical skills such as machinery for special effects. Once they’ve gained that practical knowledge apprentices will begin to work on-set and put their new skills to use.
 

Successful candidates are given the opportunity to work with mentors and supervisors established within the industry. Working on set is invaluable experience for apprentices who want to go into the field full-time once they have successfully completed their apprenticeship.
