About the apprenticeship
Duties
Duties will include learning how to safely perform maintenance and servicing on light vehicles, working with replacement components such as tyres, brakes, clutches, gearboxes, etc. Duties will expand as experience develops. Other duties will be allocated as appropriate, candidate must ensure they meet health and safety responsibilities at all times when working in a functioning garage environment. Whilst in full-time employment you will undertake the following qualifications:
VCQ Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence
VRQ Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles (Motor Vehicle 4270/4290 Series)
Essential Skills in Application of Number, Communication and Digital Literacy
Additional information
Before applying for this position please ensure you are able to travel to and from the place of employment in Pontyclun and to the XR Training Centre in Pyle once a week. You will be employed full-time as an Apprentice by this company based in Pontyclun. You will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance.
Requirements
Skills
A hard working, reliable, honest candidate with good interpersonal skills is required. We require candidates to carry out all mechanical work on cars in a busy workshop. Typical jobs will be servicing, brakes, clutch and suspension components. Full training will be given. Once per month training with XR Training, based in Pyle, Bridgend so applicants will need to ensure they can accommodate for this mandatory training.
