About the apprenticeship

Duties

Are you passionate about helping people and keen to start a career in customer service? We’re looking for a friendly and motivated Apprentice Customer Support Adviser to join our team.

In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers and visitors, providing frontline support across our Customer Care Centres and main switchboard. You’ll help customers with enquiries, process payments, and ensure everyone receives a positive, professional service.

What you’ll do:

Welcome customers and visitors, providing information and guidance
Handle face-to-face and telephone enquiries, including operating the main switchboard
Support customers to log enquiries and access services
Process payments in line with financial procedures
Book appointments and signpost customers to the right services
Help maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area

What we’re looking for:

A positive, approachable attitude and excellent communication skills
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
Good attention to detail, especially when handling payments
Ability to work flexibly across different locations

2.1 Experience of delivering customer service in person
2.2 Experience of dealing with customers over the telephone
2.3 Experience of handling money or payments Skills and
3.1 Good IT skills with experience of using Microsoft word and Excel
3.2 Ability to learn new systems e.g. databases.
3.3 Ability to listen carefully and understand customer needs
3.4 The ability to react positively and flexibly to a variation of tasks
3.5 Welsh language skills
4.1 Enthusiastic, Friendly and approachable
4.2 Polite and respectful to customers even in challenging situations
4.3 Be able to work within a team environment

Qualifications

1.1 Good general standard of education including numeracy skills
1.2 There is a requirement to undertake a relevant qualification as part of the apprenticeship role
