About the apprenticeship
Duties
• To ensure that the Patient Administrative System(PAS) (Myrddin/PIMS) accurately reflects the status of all patients.
• Update patient contact forms when they are returned to ensure correct contact details and unavailability is recorded accurately both on Myrddin and on the waiting list card.
• Continually validate all patients appearing on the RTT report to ensure that they are reported correctly and are currently available to come in.
• To direct book appointments for pre-assessment clinics, ensuring Good Practice is followed at all times
• To liaise directly with the patient, relatives and/or carers, using appropriate communication skills especially when dealing with difficult and distressing emotional situations.
• Check daily if patients have confirmed their admission dates, and if not contact them to see if they will be attending to ensure that theatre sessions are fully utilized.
