About the apprenticeship
Duties
This role will see the successful candidate working within Financial Services, gaining valuable experience and knowledge of a range of financial activities and processes, whilst pursuing the AAT accounting qualification in the process. With a primary placement within the Finance Systems Team, the role is designed to help the Apprentice learn how local authority finance works, develop technical and professional skills and provide practical support to finance teams under supervision.

• An ability to interpret and analyse numerical data;
• Confidence with using IT, particularly Outlook, systems and spreadsheets;
• A commitment to learning and gaining the AAT qualification;
• A positive approach to problem solving with excellent organisational skills;
• Able to work as part of a team and/or own under supervision;
• Able to communicate effectively with customers or clients of the service;
• Self-motivation and willingness to contribute to, support, and promote service developments;
• A willingness to undertake training and develop new skills and abilities as part of personal and professional development for continuous improvement;
• A flexible approach to work.
• An ability to complete tasks in agreed timeframes and work to deadlines
