About the apprenticeship
Duties
Front-of house- public facing — Provide a welcoming, professional reception for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors; manage enquiries in person, by phone, and via email.
Attendance administration — Record pupil lateness, ensure absence messages are passed on
Safeguarding compliance — Ensure visitor and pupil sign‑in procedures, ID checks
Communication coordination — Prepare letters, newsletters, messages, and digital updates for families; support staff communication systems.
Pupil records management — Update pupil information, process admissions and leavers.
Administrative support — Assist senior leaders and teachers with photocopying, filing, scheduling, and document preparation.
Finance and ordering — Process orders and supplies upon delivery
Medical and first‑aid support — Maintain first aid records, medical records, and liaise with parents regarding pupil health needs and/or medication.
Event coordination — Support organisation of school trips and whole‑school events.
Confidentiality and professionalism — Handle sensitive information discreetly and uphold GDPR requirements.
Additional information
As part of this apprenticeship, the successful candidate will undertake a structured training programme that includes:
On-the-job training – gaining practical experience within a school / office setting.
Off-the-job training – attending sessions covering safeguarding, behaviour management, child development, and learning strategies.
Regular assessments and feedback to track progress and improve skills.
Additional learning support, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and communication.
