About the apprenticeship
Duties
As an Apprentice you will be required to assist with the provision of a comprehensive and effective service to support the smooth and efficient running of the Service Desk. You will also be required to communicate effectively and courteously with a range of internal/external personnel and work as part of a team within the service support function, delivering a high quality service on behalf of the UHB.
To attend regular review meetings with the supervisor and assessor, leading to a Foundation Apprenticeship in Digital Application Support Level 2.
This qualification consists of:
• Level 2 Diploma in Digital Application Support
• Level 2 Knowledge certificate as appropriate (to be agreed)
• Essential Skills Wales Level 1 in Communication
• Essential Skills Wales Level 1 in Application of Number
• Essential Skills Wales Level 2 in Digital Literacy ICT

Skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft IT Packages
Work Experience
Good communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Customer Service Experience
Experience in troubleshooting PCs, laptops and printers
Experience in troubleshooting software issues
Experience in troubleshooting mobile devices, such as phones and tablets
Understanding of Local area networks and Wide area networks
Understanding of server technologies, such as File Sharing and User accounts
Understanding of ICT Security technologies, such as Anti-Virus and Firewalls
Self-motivated and enthusiastic and willingness to learn.

Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner
Ability to speak welsh
