About the apprenticeship

Duties

Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning by assisting with lesson activities, explaining tasks, and reinforcing key concepts for individuals, small groups, or the whole class.

Provide targeted support for pupils, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence and achieve their individual learning goals.

Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment by promoting good behaviour, modelling respectful relationships, and supporting pupils’ wellbeing in line with the school’s ethos and policies.

Assist with the preparation, organisation and maintenance of learning resources, classroom displays and equipment to ensure a safe, stimulating, and well-structured learning environment.

Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress, feeding back to the class teacher to support assessment, planning and next steps in learning.

Support wider school duties, including supervising pupils during break and lunch times, assisting with trips and activities, and adhering to all safeguarding, health, and safety procedures to always ensure pupils’ welfare.
