About the apprenticeship
Duties
As a teaching assistant at the school, you will support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom.
Job roles will include:
Support pupils in Key Stage 1, 5 days a week (Year 1 and 2
Support pupils with their language and literacy skills (read, write, inc.)
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
Supporting pupils with their numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
Support children in the various areas within the class
Understand the safeguarding and behaviour policy and their role within these policies
Promoting the Welsh culture
Supporting a teacher in various roles within the classroom
Support with afterschool provision which includes sports activities
Essential Criteria
An eagerness to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant
A passion for working with children
Possess relevant qualities including patience and communication
A proactive individual
Ability to always show professionalism
Ability to listen and learn from more experienced staff
Ability to always conduct yourself in a professional manner whilst working in schools
Additional information
The Apprenticeship includes both on-the- job learning and off-the-job training which leads to nationally recognised qualifications
