Job description
The Governing Body are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated professional to work at Ysgol Maes Hyfryd.

Candidates are required to be flexible and adaptable, being required to meet the needs of pupils between the ages of 11 – 19 with a wide range of needs, including autism, severe and complex learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties. This post is for 31 hours per week, term time only plus five training days.

As a teaching assistant you would support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom.

Job roles will include:

Working under the instruction and guidance of teaching and senior staff to enable access to learning for pupils with behavioural and special needs problems and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom or outside the main teaching area
Support learners with their language and literacy skills
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
Supporting pupils with their numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
Support children in the various areas within the class

Understand the safeguarding and behaviour policy and their role within these policies
Promote the Welsh culture
Working with children aged 11 to 19
Supporting a teacher in various roles

Pay: From £8.60 per hour
