What apprenticeships do they offer?
RCT Council offers a variety of apprenticeships across their different service areas including engineering, horticulture, child and adult services and human resources. 

When does Rhondda Cynon Taf Council usually recruit for apprentices?
Advertising for roles begins in February with posts going live on the Apprenticeship Vacancy Service in May. Successful apprentices will start their roles in September. 

What is RCT looking for in an applicant?
Some roles will require previous qualifications though life skills are just as important. The council is looking for candidates whose values match the council’s; the strengthening of Rhondda Cynon Taf’s economy, creating positive neighbourhoods and promoting independence for workers. 

What type of jobs can apprentices expect to be doing?
This will depend on the role though all Apprentices will begin by shadowing qualified members of staff to familiarise themselves with the environment and work.  

As full-time council employees apprentices are entitled to 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, in-house training, contribution to a Pension Scheme and participation in staff benefits. RTC Council boasts a 100% qualification accomplishment rate.
